Age: 35
From: Cape Town, South Africa

I have been a part of and a follower of the Red Sock movement for a few years now.

I have never been an athlete, but always enjoyed playing sports, being active and the outdoors.

A few years back I did an obstacle course event and got addicted to the trail running aspect. Doing trail running, I kept pushing myself to see how far I could go.

Having been a member of the Unogwaja team in 2016. I cannot wait to join the Red Love Train and support the amazing charities of the Unogwaja Challenge.

This is an incredible life changing adventure which raises funds for a great cause and am privialged to be able to share the journey with my fellow Unogwaja’s!

Although I am not a fast athlete I got into endurance events and I have completed a few Half Ironmans, a Full Ironman and a Robben Island crossing.

I enjoy taking on endurance events that test me physically and mentally. I am looking forward to being a part and hope to make a difference towards the Unogwaja charities in whatever way I can.

The mind is so much more powerful than you realise and I follow these two famous quotes:

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” – Nelson Mandela

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”  – TS Eliot
