Miguel Netto

Age: 29
From: Cape Town, South Africa

My name is Miguel (a.k.a. Migs).

I’m a 29 year old Marketing Manager living in Cape Town. I am happy go lucky person who has massive passion for all things sports & fitness.

I’m a triathlete at heart but do enjoy any ultra challenge which pushes the boundaries. Away from sport, I am family man, coffee lover and social enthusiast. A random fact about me is that, I have an unstoppable addiction for muesli and rusks!

After a few years in Stellenbosh, studying Sports Science, I found an underlying need to do something out of my comfort zone and something that would not only test my physical limits but do so for the greater good. I knew I wanted to use my knowledge of sports and fitness in a way that would help others and raise awareness.

In 2012, together with achieving my life-long dream of becoming an Ironman 2012, I successfully raised money for a children’s home in Cape Town.  Since then, I have taken on a few more Ironman events, both locally & internationally to help drive awareness for various charities in South Africa.

I was a proud member of the Unogwaja 2015 team and have been given the truly unique and honoured opportunity to return and present this journey in the 2016, and 2017 team once again!

In 2018, I will return as part of the crucial support team.

I am a firm believer that if you follow your heart, anything is possible!

Miguel is also a proud member of the Red Love Train.

01 Jun 2017WiseyR420A donation from an incredible family. This is nearly R5,000 split evenly between you all. It is important to split this amount evenly between each of you, because each of you as a team have inspired this donation. The family donating are Rich and Kylie and their two daughters from Australia, they have avidly followed the story of Unogwaja over the last three years and given over R25,000 to date. It is a testament to Unogwaja 2017's ability to inspire. Keep charging legends!!
